Buzzards?

Today I came home and found some buzzards flying around my house. It was the weirdest thing. I don't think I've ever seen a buzzard up close in the wild, so this was a new experience. I decided it would be a good idea to snap some pics. Some of you may be wondering how I knew it was a buzzard. Well, because shortly after I began snapping shots, my neighbor "Tommy" (that's Tommy #1 for those of you in the know) came out and began shouting to my other neighbor to get them dawgs inside cuz the buzzards are can fly down and pick em up! I thought this was strange but Tommy probably has more experience with buzzards than I do. In the end, no mammal was hurt, human, dawg, or buzzard. Here are the pictures.

I also took some video with my cell phone so its not the greatest, but if you listen close...you can hear Tommy shouting for us to take cover.

The Bills are 1-3. This is the point in which most fans would hide underneath their blankies and dream of better days. But, I for one, am not most fans. I am not what you would call a "bandwagon fan". I have been a Bills fans my whole life. 24/7/365. Yeah I used that awful cliche. So what? It fits in this instance. So while fans of other teams desperately try to hide their fandom or search for another team, I wear my Bills colors proud today. Not because they are doing well, but because they are doing poorly and need my support. Even if they don't win another game for the rest of my life, I will still be a fan til the end. GO BILLS.

Yes. I said it. For those of you who don't know, which is most of you, two summers ago, I traveled to Mountaintop, Pennsylvania to make a movie. The movie was based on a short story by Jorge Luis Borges by the same name. It was a subpar screenplay. It had its faults. I was merely a first year film student, not knowing what the hell I'm doing. Unlike now, where I've mastered the art... Anyway, I drove to Mountaintop in hopes of creating a masterpiece. My collaborator was none other than my good friend, Kurt Warner. He introduced me to Borges' work and was very enthusiastic about the chance to create something like this. Partway into production of this movie, Kurt needed to leave the project. I hold no grudge against him for this. I knew that he wasn't feeling himself.

However, needless to say, I encountered many problems on this endeavor. It was my first attempt at a movie and I struggled throughout. Despite all these problems, my cast/crew and I finsihed all the scenes and had a good time doing it. Recently, I got the desire to edit this movie together into something I can show.

But while I was digitizing my footage, I realized that the outtakes were by far more entertaining than the editing piece of crap i would be working on. So I plan on releasing to my viewers one scene at a time, each take, uncut. Moviemaking is tough stuff. Especially for those who don't know what they're doing.

Our first scene was actually one of the last scenes in the film. I blocked out the scene in about 20 minutes right after we got there. It was a lot of fun. Enjoy.

The Game Keep

Anway, Brent and I figured we should probably familiarize ourselves with Dungeons and Dragons before attempting to produce a film about the subject. So after some heavy research (the yellow pages), Brent finds a game of D&D taking place in Hermitage, TN in a place called "The Game Keep".
So we left about 6:00pm from Watkins on our journey across town to play a little D&D. But our first obsticle we faced was a familiar one, for me at least.

I tackled this problem pretty swiftly.
Finally, we get there.

Now, I can't speak for Brent...but this place was everything I dreamed it would be. And more. It had everything you would expect from a role player's heaven. Plenty of board games, action figures, dice, pretty much any object that would surely repel any girl that would you would possibly run across. The men were pretty much all the same. Middle aged, balding, obese, homosexual (maybe just one or two). There was an area in the front where things were sold, and then an area in the back where the gamers were. Brent smartly asked if we could observe these guys in action. They indifferently made no objection, so we sat down at the table next to them.

At first, I couldn't keep from laughing. The way these guys (actually there was one woman who Brent said smelled nice, however she was obese as well) spoke to each other while keeping their characters was something to behold. As time went on, Brent encouraged me to begin trying to pick up character traits that these beasts possessed so that we could then use them in the movie. We picked up a few things here and there but Brent wasn't satisfied. The kid was relentless. He told me to take some pictures. Now, I didn't have the guts to pull out my Canon G90 and snap a few pics for the guys back home. It would be far too insulting. These poor people are just trying to have some fun. What was this, a zoo for crying out loud? There was no way I'd pull out my camera. However, Brent had no problem with it. I discreetly handed him my camera and by gosh, if that kid didn't snap a few right before my eyes. Now, he's brave but he's not stupid. He made sure to keep the camera out of plain sight, so the pictures aren't the highest quality of photography. But for the situation we were dealt, these will do.

This was the first picture...it didn't come out very well. Brent must have been nervous.

Oh yeah...now we're getting something. There they are.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. (sorry, overused line alert)

This is the only picture I took. Two miscues on this one. 1. I took a picture of my jacket. 2. The flash went off and startled the Clan.

We stayed at "The Game Keep" for about 2 hours...watching, waiting, listening, watching more. Overall, it was a fruitful journey. I left with a Dungeons and Dragons Starters Kit so that I can learn the basics. But nothing can compare to watching the game being played live. Luckily, Brent brought a sound recorder and picked up some priceless audio clips that I can share with you as soon as Brent sends them to me. So stay tuned.

Not sure if anyone noticed this but the picture of Rob in the post below about him borrowing $30 bucks AND the movie starring Rob, "Brotherly Love" (2004) has Rob wearing the same exact shirt! NOT ONLY THAT, but the girl who co-stars with Rob, Sarah Everson is now Rob's girlfriend. While filming Brotherly Love, the two were just friends. Who says there aren't happy endings in Hollywood? So far, they've lasted longer than Ben and Jen! Big ups to Rob.

Steve gets frozen (opposite of burned)

It's a pun, give me a break. Anyway...in case you missed it, my brother Steve recently proposed an idea of an anti-microwave: a device that instantly (or very quickly) makes something cold, the same way that a microwave makes something hot. Well, he should have known than to try and stump a certified chemist, Joseph Ferguson. Enjoy the hilarious results for yourself here.

"Brotherly Love" (2004)

Today was my brother Rob's 6 month anniversary with his girlfriend, Sarah. (happy anniversary guys) Anyway, he comes upstairs and hands me an index card with "I OWE U 30$" on it I didn't know what exactly that meant until he told me how he needed money to buy Sarah dinner for the big celebration tonight.

An hour later, he gets home with his 6 month anniversary Pancho's Take out. Not only did he buy Sarah food but also bought a 6-pack of IBC rootbeer.

Kudos on the IBC, but a strange purchase with my 30 bucks.

Oh well.

My brother Steve recently made a Blog...so then I made a blog to compete with his. But if you think that our blogs look strikingly similar, it's because Steve blatantly stole the "Theme" that I choose for my blog. Steve originally chose this really professional looking theme that worked great for him but it just wasn't my style. Well, now that Steve has stolen my theme and thus removed the uniqueness of my blog, I am writing this post to complain. A bit petty you may say...but then again...what are blogs for if not to complain about petty grievances?
